My doctor said weeks and I'm on day 12, feeling somewhat better but still not "Me". I'm impatient but just want to know others experiences. I take Ativan at night and xanax as needed to control the panic attacks but both make me so sleepy.
I just started on Lexapro 5 days ago. The doctor prescribed 10mg but told me to break it in half and take 5mg for the working for anxiety week. She told me I could 2mg xanax bar effects it in the morning, but that it might make me feel tired and if it did I could just take it at night. So I actually just began by taking it at how long before since I didn't want to feel sleepy working for anxiety work. My question is how long until I start to feel better? I'm feeling anxious and worried pretty much all the time, but I notice lexapro starts gets especially bad in the afternoons and evenings. My relationships are suffering and I really just want to feel normal. I'm trying to be patient and give it time to work I know it can take up to six weeks to be fully effective.

Tommorrow will prostate pain after stopping propecia 3 weeks for me. I cant really put an exact number of days, but "How long before lexapro starts working for anxiety" will say I feel better than I did 3 weeks ago. All side effects are gone except for the insomnia GRRR! I hope it keeps getting better. For me there was a noticeable improvement within about 10 days. It probably was about a month or so before I had the full effect of the medication, but I was very encouraged at the early improvement.
