After 6 months on 30mg I tapered over 2 months after 10mg as sick of being brain dead. Lexapro withdrawal symptoms stayed on 10mg for 4 months and then tapered off completely over 2 months. I was on Lexapro for 1. Upon discontinuing the medication I entered a state of constant dysphoria and brain fog. I also have the classic brain zaps and excessive sweating but I can live with those.

Antidepressant discontinuation syndrome , also called antidepressant withdrawal syndrome , is a condition that can occur following the interruption, reduction, or discontinuation of antidepressant medication. A discontinuation syndrome can occur after stopping any antidepressant including selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors SSRIs , serotonin—norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors SNRIs , and tricyclic antidepressants TCAs. Methods of prevention include gradually decreasing the dose among those who wish to stop, though it is possible for symptoms to occur with tapering.
