Posted February 21, My 13 year old daughter has been battling mild to moderate acne for two years. Her dermatologist has suggested that we try accutane as all the other treatments have not worked. The acne on her back is the worst. It is preventing her from doing the things she likes to do or wear certain clothing. I feel like at this point it is really effecting her self esteem. I would like to know how old other people have gone on this at such an early age and what their experience has been.

I have read everything about this drug. I am well aware of the side effects. It can scare the heck out of you. But it seems as if the most common side effect are dry lips and extremely dry skin which can be helped with moisterizers and chap stick. Any information about your experiences will be helpful.
