I've had a fear of flying for 15 years, and yet still carried on flying for 10 years. I had a few good flights when I was surprisingly relaxed, during and before, but many when I felt terrible tensed and really scared the whole time. It got worse as time went by, and the last few flights I was on, while I was actually ok mostly during the flights, the anticipation the weeks before made things worse, I was sick with nerves stomach problems, dizzy spells, irritability and even depression.
