Chemical depression is widely diagnosed and poorly understood. So much so that many people who are diagnosed with it and medicated for it do not exactly understand what it is or how it works.

The use of psychostimulants as an adjuvant therapy in treatment-resistant depression is not very common nowadays and has been the subject of much criticism.
