It has the potential to be rather important! The primary goal of the original trial was quite certainly met when it was shown that there was a 25 percent reduction in risk for diagnosis with prostate cancer among the men treated with finasteride in this very large trial which enrolled and randomize 18, US patients to treatment with finasteride or a placebo.
